Pascal, Didier and Alain owners of Petite Provence Boulangerie and Patisserie originally came from France. In 1996, wanting to share their passion of French patisserie they opened their first bakery La Provence Bakery and Bistro in Lake Oswego. By popular demand, they then opened the exclusive bakery, La Provence Wholesale bakery, on SE Divison St. in 2003. In 2007 the Petite Provence in the Dalles was opened, the unique style and menu have been well received.

The newest member of the family is Petite Provence on NE Alberta St, which is in a fresh and exciting neighborhood. It is our wish to not only bring you the taste and atmosphere of France, but to also become part of your neighborhood. You may also notice that the menus are quite similar, this is to allow the creative management to lend character and style of their own, giving you the opportunity to enjoy individual tastes as you visit each location.

Clock Tower Ales

Clock Tower Ales specializes in the sale of craft beers, wine and non alcoholic craft soda. We are located in the second historic Wasco County Court House 311 Union Street The Dalles Oregon. With a relaxed and community focused atmosphere we provide beverages and light food to our patrons. The building was built in 1881 as the second Wasco County courthouse, this 2-story structure housed county offices, a jail and court room. The belfry contained the “town clock” that tolled during the day. The building was used until 1909 by the county and was vacant for 10 years. The building has been a long-time meeting place for the Masonic Lodge, and for years housed a funeral parlor. The building is currently being restored and is a part of the National Registry of Historic Places.

It’s not just a slogan at Big Jim’s Drive-In located in The Dalles, Oregon. Dedication and consistency is what we value and want to serve our customers the best food possible in a relaxed, clean atmosphere.

We’re GOOD food, NOT fast food. We never cook our burgers ahead of time. We make our own dressing for the burgers, tartar sauce, fry sauce and our own recipe for chili. We still make those old-fashioned milk shakes, Banana Splits and Sundaes. Our Waffle Cones are a big hit with one of our 16 flavors of UMPQUA brand hard ice cream in them. Try one of our 5 FRESH FRUIT milk shakes or Smoothies.

Enjoy our clean comfortable dining room, outside patio or drive thru to indulge in some of our great food or desserts.

Time To Eat

History

It all started in 1950 when Sam Yoder opened a drive-in named the “Dutch Treat” and lasted until 1956 when Tom Foley purchased the drive-in and renamed it the “Irish Treat”. Tom Foley ran the drive-in until 1962. At that time it was closed due to the construction of our new interstate highway I-84.

“Big Jim’s”

In 1966 “Jim Dahlen” re-opened the drive-in with partner Ted Beckley using the now famous name “Big Jim’s Drive- In”. Later in 1968 Ted Beckley bought out his partner Jim’s share of the business and ran the business very successfully until 1988 when he built the new building. The old Big Jim’s Drive-In was demolished completely; it sat in what now is the parking lot

After building the new restaurant, Ted and Lynda Beckley spent 8 more years in their new restaurant. The Beckley’s are retired & still live here in The Dalles.

In April 1997 Rex and Beth Tegen purchased Big Jim’s Drive-In. The Tegen’s have lived in The Dalles since 1976 moving here from Yakima, Washington. Rex worked for Pepsi-Cola for 23 years and Beth a dental assistant for many years. Beth continues as a dental assistant & bookeeping for our restaurant. We enjoy our three children Kyle, Devin, and Breeann.

Our valuable employees and our commitment to our customers and community is going to continue what has been a local landmark for over 50 years with “Hamburgers made with Love” for our customers and friends.
